SRINAGAR, MARCH 23: In order to push for long term quality standards in higher education, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Coordinators meet was held here today at Azad Ahad Memorial College Bemina.
Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University Kashmir, Sheikh Javid Ahmed, College Principal, Azad Ahad Memorial College, Bemina, Prof. Yasmin Ashai, member UPSC, Prof Nisar Ali, and other academicians underlined the significance of IQAC as an administrative body to channelize the efforts and measures of higher education towards academic excellence.
The experts highlighted the role of IQAC in maintaining quality standards in teaching, learning and evaluation. They said that it is the prime responsibility of IQAC coordinators to initiate, plan and supervise various activities that are necessary to enhance the quality of education in higher institutions.
Giving a detailing the aims and objectives of the IQAC, experts said IQAC can promote and determine quality related activities and issues through various programmes and activities in institutions.
Speakers deliberated at length regarding the policy frame work to obtain accreditation of higher education institutions by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). They further said that education scenario in State can only be improved when various academic bodies of the State work in tandem with the administrative bodies.
Later, certificates were distributed among participants.
