Srinagar, Mar 24: Greeting Pakistani people and the government on the occasion of Youm-e-Pakistan, Awami Action Committee (AAC) has prayed for the progress, prosperity and political and economic stability of Pakistan.AAC said that several members including its head and Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq were invited by the Pakistan embassy in Delhi to take part in Youme-e-Pakistan function to be held there on March 23.
However, AAC said that the present dispensation was following the worst dictatorial policies, adding, on one hand Mirwaiz has been kept under house detention from past one week while on the other authorities were conducting large scale crackdown to arrest the youth, pro-freedom activists and workers in view of the upcoming sham polls.
Due to the restrictions and curbs imposed by the government, AAC said Mirwaiz and other party members could not visit the Pakistan embassy in New Delhi to take part in the Youm-e-Pakistan functions.
Terming Pakistan as a well wisher of Kashmiris, the AAC said Pakistan has always supported the Kashmir cause unconditionally. It further said Kashmiris are highly thankful to Pakistan for raising the Kashmir dispute and lending support to it on moral, political and diplomatic grounds.
Condemning the house arrest of Mirwaiz, other resistance leaders and arrest of hundreds of youth from across Kashmir, the AAC said the party will strictly follow the programmes of joint resistance and will continue to fight for the Kashmir cause till it reaches is logical conclusion. (KNS)
