Permanent employees without salaries

Srinagar, March 30: Permanent employees working with the government-run Jammu and Kashmir Agro Industries Development Corporation (JKAIDC) Khonmou Division on Thursday staged protest demonstration against withholding salary for several months. The employees shouted slogans against the Director Finance and Divisional Manager.

     “From past five months, we haven’t received salary, despite being the permanent employees. We have no other source of income as a result our families particularly school going children have been suffering,” said a protesting employee to news agency CNS.


     “Our Managing Director Asif Khan is very cooperative and trying to resolve our issue, but the Divisional Manager M.R. Khan and Director Finance Rakesh Khajuria have been creating problems for us. Instead of resolving our issue, these officials force us to maintain silence,” they said.

     When contacted Director Finance Rakesh Khajuria confirmed that, employees are without salaries. He said Corporation has no funds and even has exhausted the working capital. “We are hopeful that government will funds available in April and employees will get salaries,” he said.

    Divisional Manager Muhammad Rafiq Khan said that he is trying to attend the issue and hopefully in next month salary will be released.

    Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura said that he will look into the matter. (CNS)
