Srinagar, Mar 21: Ahead of the ‘Pakistan Day’ celebration function on March 23 in New Delhi at Pakistan Embassy, Hurriyat (G) leaders said that they have been either put under house arrest or lodged in different police stations by the authorities.
A Hurriyat (G) leader informed KNS that leaders including Tehreek-e-Hurriyat General Secretary, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Hurriyat (G) General Secretary, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Hurriyat (G) chief spokesman, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Raja Mehraj-u-d-din, Muhammad Ashraf Laaya, Umer Adil Dar have been placed either under house detention or have been placed under arrest.
He said that besides its Chairman Syed Ali Geelani other leaders are scheduled to visit New Delhi to attend the ‘Pakistan Day’ function on Mar 23.
He said that the leaders have been jailed to not to allow them to campaigning for boycott of the by-polls held for India’s parliament.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) spokesman condemned the continuous house arrest of the resistance leadership including Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKF Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik amalgam leaders including its chairman, Syed Ali Geelani.
The spokesman also condemned the arrest of amalgam leaders. (KNS)
