AIP’s protest march against killing of teenager at Lolab, foiled by police

Handwara 17 March: Police today foiled AIP’s march against killing of teenager Kaneeza Bano, who was killed during an encounter at Lolab. Dozens of Party workers lead by Farooq Ahmad Wani and Showkat Pandith started March towards Handwara chowk the police foiled the march and took few workers into custody. Protesters were raising slogans against security forces and alleged that current Govt. has turned absolutely helpless. Party spokesman Inam-u-Nabi has condemned the police action and added that current Govt. has lost the moral right to govern the state and accused district administration of suppressing the genuine peaceful voice. Spokesman added that sacrifices of Kashmiris would not go waste and sooner or later Govt. of India will have to endorse Right to Self Determination.
