Srinagar, Mar 18: Terming the election process as ‘a part of democracy’ Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday said that the parliament by-elections for Anantnag and Srinagar seats is not any challenge for them.
Addressing the party workers at Srinagar, PDP senior leader and MLC Yasir Reshi said, “The people of Kashmir have full faith on the leadership of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and the people will choose PDP candidates again in the by-elections for Anantnag and Srinagar seats.”
He said, “The political parties are saying that PDP has lost its ground but the fact is that they allied to contest the elections to defeat the people’s party. The both parties NC and Congress joined their hands for the polls, which clearly indicate that they are scared to face defeat in the by-elections.”
Calling PDP as ‘strong wall’ Reshi said, “The opposition parties have already accepted the defeat and are now using tactics to mislead the people.”
He said that the elections were and is not any challenge from them as the party is not contesting the elections in the lust of power but for the progress of the people of Kashmir. (KNS)
