Doda, March 25:  Residents of village Trown, some 15 kilometers from District headquarter Doda in Chenab Valley are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to install new electric poles and replace wires in the area.

Villagers said that absence of concrete electric poles and standard wire poses risk to their lives.

“The HT line is hanged with rotten wood poles Installed in 1966 with damaged electric wire poses grave threat to the human and animal lives. This problem persists in more than dozen villages,” the locals told CNS.

Villagers appealed Chief Minister Mehboba Mufti to look into the matter. (CNS)
