DDC Inaugurates Plantation Drive in Baramulla.

Baramulla,  March. 15: District Development Commissioner, Baramulla Dr.Nasir Ahmad Naqash today inaugurated the plantation drive by planting Deodar and  saplings in the premises of Government High School Dewan Bagh Baramulla.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, N. A. Baba, CEO,DSWO, DFO, Social Forestry, JV Division and Wild Life, and   Officers from various departments were present on the occasion.

The DDC also planted saplings in the premises of Degree College for Women, Government Boys Higher Secondary School and Girls Higher Secondary School, Baramulla.

It was given out that Forest Department is planting one lakh saplings of varied plant species at various places including schools, colleges and road sides in the division during the season as per the action plan.

The DDC informed that educational institutions of the district are being actively involved in the drive under which Horticulture department is providing saplings of various kinds to these institutions during the session.

Earlier the students of High School DewanBagh presented a colorful programme during which speakers emphatically informed the participants about the role of trees in balancing our ecology and responsibility of locals in maintaining this balance

On this occasion the DDC impressed upon the officers of the concerned department to implement the action plan regarding plantation drive in the district in letter and spirit. He exhorted students present to actively participate in the drive for green and clean environment. Later the DDC distributed prices among the students.
