Terms it as ‘gross violation of human rights’
Srinagar, Mar 24: Hurriyat Conference (G) has strongly condemned, the government’s refusal to allow its chairman Syed Ali Geelani to offer Friday prayer.
Hurriyat on Friday said that stopping pro-freedom leaders from performing their religious responsibilities is gross violation of human rights and interference in the personnel and religious rights.
Lashing at authorities, Hurriyat (G) said that they have virtually turned state into a prison & basic rights are denied and trampled by authorities.
Hurriyat Conference (G) in its statement condemned authorities for continuous detention of JKLF chief Mohammad Yasin Malik and placing Mirwaiz Omer Farooq under house arrest.
Several other top separatist leaders, including Hurriyat (G) general secretary, Shabir Ahmad Shah, general secretary Tehreek-Hurriyat, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Raja Meraj-u-Din, Mohammad Ashraf Laya, Mohammad Yusuf Mir & Syed Imtiyaz Hyder were either arrested or placed under house arrest.
Hurriyat Conference (G) while criticising State authorities for their egoistic approach, said that virtually they have decided to detain Syed Ali Geelani for whole life, however they are yet to produce any written order in this regard.
Hurriyat (G) referring to court procedure, said that they challenged the illegal detention of its chairman and court in its verdict termed it illogical and unjustified.
Police administration is denying to honour court ruling and hence 87-year-old Syed Ali Geelani continues to be under house arrest since 2010, said Hurriyat (G).
Spokesman while lamenting at authorities for unleashing fresh arrest spree against resistance leaders and activists, said that soon as dates for shame election were announced, police arrested top APHC leadership including Tehreek-e-Huriyat.
They are detaining activists during night raids in Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Islamabad, and police and forces personnel in villages are harassing people during patrolling, said spokesman.
Referring to night raids in Srinagar, spokesman said that dozens of youth from different localities were arrested and lodged in police stations.
Under well thought plans administration is creating a scare and appalling situations so that people are left with no option other than to cast vote under such circumstances.
Hurriyat Conference (G) said that upcoming elections have no credibility and are mere drama enacted by forces and agencies.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G), strongly criticised authorities for re-arresting senior resistance leader Masarat Allam in an old case & filing fake cases against incarcerated leader to prolong his detention. It is quite strange and deplorable that authorities don’t follow any ethics & while dealing with his case, forget that nowhere in world such precedence are being observed.
In a statement issued to KNS, Spokesperson, Ayaz Akbar lamented authorities for shameful tactics and asked authorities to regret as they have surpassed all their limits.
Masarat Allam is in illegal detention and It is quite unfair & injustice, said Ayaz Akbar and his continuous detention is unjustified and illegal.
Ayaz Akbar said that Masarat Allam is being subjected to vengeance & authorities while following dictates from agencies, feel no shame during court procedures & are reluctant to furnish factual records in judiciary.
Lamenting at police authorities’ spokesman said that court and other institutions are being used to accomplish & endorse the brutal policies of state machinery.
Blaming state administration for following the footsteps of their Delhi masters, spokesman said that local administration is incompetent and are following their ego and forget about conscience.
Lashing at State authorities’ spokesperson said that they have no option but to follow their masters in Delhi. He said that whosoever is involved in such inhuman actions and evil doings, they shall face wrath and have from Allah no protector. (KNS)
