Hurriyat (M) condemns Govt ‘repression’
Denounces use of force against protesters in Pulwama

Srinagar, Mar 13: Hurriyat Conference (M) strongly resented and deplored the repeated dictatorial approach of restricting and barring leadership and Hurriyat activists from peacefully protesting the state policies of killings and arrests.
According to the joint resistance leadership programme Mirwaiz was to jointly lead a peaceful sit-in protest in Srinagar on Monday, but he was put under house arrest by the authorities on Sunday evening itself.
Hurriyat (M) media advisor Shahid-ul-Islam was also been put under house arrest while senior leader, Engineer Hilal Ahmad war was arrested and lodged in Maisuma police station.
Denouncing the governments repression the Hurriyat stated that on one hand the Kashmiri people are subjected to worst form of state terrorism, and on the other, restrictions and bans are imposed on the voices raised against such oppression and injustices.
Meanwhile, senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza visited number of places in South Kashmir including Shangus, Achabal, Tel Wani and other places where he addressed scores of meetings and rallies. Denouncing the unabated use of force by government forces in Pulwama and other parts of South Kashmir, the leader protested the arrest of youth by the police. He said that the detained youth were tortured inside police stations. He also denounced the use of force against the protesters in Pulwama. (KNS)
