BUDGAM, MARCH 30: In connection with the forthcoming bye elections for Srinagar-2 Parliamentary Constituency, the first phase of Randomization of EVMs was conducted today in office premises of District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Budgam.
General Observer for district Budgam, Rajesh Bahugna and DEO Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad supervised the process.
Nodal Officer Elections (ADC) Budgam and AROs besides representatives of various political parties were present on the occasion.
A total of 658 EVMs including 20 percent reserve EVMs for five assembly segments of Budgam district comprising 547 polling booths were randomized.
Earlier the District Election Officer held a meeting with the representatives of political parties and briefed them about the various aspects of forthcoming by-election for Srinagar-2 Parliamentary Constituency including implementation of Model Code of Conduct, scrutiny of advertisement by the political parties, media and expenditure monitoring, maintenance of shadow observation register and permission for conduct of public rallies. Relocation of some polling booths also came up for discussion.
