Srinagar, Mar 22: The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) employees association on Wednesday staged protest against the government for ‘failing to regularize them from past nine years.’
According to KNS correspondent, Muhammad Lateef Bhat, the employees assembled at Block office Pattan and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’. They were demanding regularization of their duties.
Talking to KNS, the employees said that the government has ignored them as despite working in the department from past nine years with dedication, the government has failed to regularize their duties.
They said that the promises made by the concerned minister with them have proven hoax on the ground as the minister has failed to fulfill his promises.
The employees later appealed Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to intervene into the matter and fulfill their demands at earliest. (KNS)
