Srinagar, March 31: Government of India, Ministry of Public Grievances and Pensions has nominated Mir Bashir Ahmad, Area welfare Officer for the State of Jammu and Kashmir for the two calendar years 2017 and 2018.
According to a notification from Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions dated 16 March, 2017, Mir will look after the welfare of all Central Government employees and their families residing in the whole State of Jammu and Kashmir.
The communication has been sent to all the ministries and departments of the Government of India Chief Secretaries of all States , commissioners, police authorities and other M.D’S, D.G’S , Secretaries of PSU’S , CPWD, Director General Health, all Municipalities, Metro’s of the County including all the Ministries, Departments, District Commissioners especially the Police Authorities of the State of Jammu and Kashmir with the immediate direction for their full cooperation to the Area Welfare Officer.
Some of the illustrative functions of Area Welfare Officer are to function as coordinating officer between CGHS and beneficiaries to helping expeditious hospitalization of serious cases, attending to complaints regarding hospital care and to serve on the area awareness advisory committee for considering suggestions for improvement of facilities in the State.
Pertinently, Mir Bashir Ahmad, who has a vast experience in the field of rehabilitation administration in Government of India hails from Dadasara Village of Tral town in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. He has contributed a lot by submitting and implementing various proposals regarding the rehabilitation programs of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. (CNS)
