NC policies revolve around one family: Khan

Srinagar, Mar 27: Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura Monday said that National Conference and Congress alliance symbolizes oppression in Jammu and Kashmir.
“History is testimony to the fact how these two parties have brought destruction to Jammu and Kashmir”, Lone said adding, “From dilution of special status of state to the demolition of democratic institutions, the state of Jammu and Kashmir and its people have always suffered because of the power centric policies and approach of these parties and their leadership”.
Addressing a largely attended public meetings alongwith party candidate Nazir Ahmed Khan, at Town Hall Budgam, Nasrullahpora, Dariend and Wadwan, Lone asked people to remain vigilant against the nefarious designs of the two parties who have once again joined hands only for their own interests.
“They (NC leadership) stand exposed before the people of Jammu and Kashmir in general and Kashmir in particular for the double standards and stands. The electorates have punished them for their misdeeds and now they have again taken shelter to Congress in an attempt to seek their political revival”, he said.
“Those who talk about the interest of the people are actually responsible for the betrayal. They have brought the state to the cross roads and created an atmosphere of unrest, uncertainty and chaos just in order to stay in power”, he said.
National Conference – Congress coalition has always brought chaos and uncertainty in the State by propagating oppressive policies, he said while lamenting that instead of adopting humanistic approach to address grievances of the common masses, the two parties and their leaders have brazenly mis-used State apparatus to gag genuine voice of the people.
Addressing the meeting Nazir Khan said that National Conference is a party with no direction, vision or policy. “The entire party and its policy revolve around one family and their interests. The party has comprised the interests of state only for the personal benefits of one family”, he said.
Khan said that NC could not find a candidate to be fielded in Srinagar-Budgam constituency as such had to push Dr Farooq Abdullah. “The party is running on crutches. It has not only betrayed the people of state but its own workers”, he said.
He reminded the people how National Conference entered into alliance either with Congress or BJP in past just for the sake of power adding that the party always compromised the interests of state for its own vested interest.
District President Budgam Muntazir Mohiuddin also addressed the gathering and urged the people to come out in large number to ensure success of PDP candidate in the ensuing elections. “We have to strengthen the hands of our Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to ensure peace, tranquility and development in Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.
