Srinagar, Mar 22: Strongly condemning the arrest of senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, a party spokesman today said that it exhibits the frustration of the ruling regime.
Nayeem Khan was arrested at the Srinagar airport when he was about to leave for New Delhi to attend the function of Pakistan National Day on Thursday.
In a statement issued to KNS, terming the banning of Nayeem Khan’s visit to New Delhi as a confession of defeat at the hands of genuine political leadership of Kashmir, National Front spokesperson said that curbing the political space has made Indian democracy a joke.
The spokesman lashed out at the ruling class of the disputed territory and said that arresting political leaders every now and then is a sheer instance of dictatorship.
However, such undemocratic and illogical measures won’t deter Kashmiri resistance leaders to shun their just political stance vis-a-vis Kashmir dispute.
He said that as long as New Delhi and its local stooges stick to their biased and unfair policy about Kashmir, the situation would not show any positive change. For resolving the disputes like Kashmir, all parties must have a political vision and they must encourage engagements that only can pave way for the final resolution. (KNS)
