Srinagar, Mar 15: State Institute of Education Kashmir organized a theater show in the auditorium of SP Higher Secondary school Srinagar, in which four curriculum based skits were presented.
Earlier SIE Kashmir organized ten day faculty development programme in which the faculty members of all DIETs of Kashmir division participated.
In the workshop special stress was laid on the importance of theater in education. Four curriculum based performances were prepared during that workshop which were displayed before the galaxy of officers and students.
All persons who watched the show hailed the efforts of SIE Kashmir. Faculty members, teachers presented these skits.
Principal SIE Suriya Akther welcomes all the participants and guests in the programme. In her welcome speech she highlighted the need and importance of theater in teaching learning process.
She said that it is the first occasion that SIE had initiated such type of programme for the faculty members of DIETs. She further said that teaching is a art and teacher must be a good artist so that he can reach to his students in a better way.
The chief guest at the function Syed Humayoun Qaiser praised the role of SIE for such initiative.
He said that the present educational system poses number of challenges before us and we need to think out of box to overcome those challenges and theater is one of best tool in the modern time.
He further said that these performing teachers proved that there is no age for learning, if a person works hard can prove wanders. He said that this type of theater in education must be disseminated to grass root level in order to help the students.
Prof Syed Majeed Andrabi the guest of honour also spoke at the occasion. He stressed upon the teachers and students to follow the path of truthfulness in their lives.
He said the our society is going bad to worse day to worse day by day and only teachers and students can help us in this situation.
Famous theater director Muzamil Bhawani and veteran drama actor Farooq Shiekh also spoke at the function. Principal SP HSS School, Affifa Presented the vote of thanks.
