Sugar shortage hits consumers in Anantnag, Kulgam

Residents appeal CAPD minister

Srinagar, Mar 16: For the past two months, consumers in Achabal area of Anantnag district are being compelled to buy sugar on high rates from market due to its non-availability at the depots of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department.
Residents in Hardapora, Akingam, Bonapora, Badoora in Anantnag district and Khudwani, Qaimoh, Redwani, Batpora in Kulgam said that they are facing sugar shortage from the past two months.
“The CAPD depots have received no sugar supply for the past two months of January and February,” locals said while talking to KNS.
“I have been visiting the nearby depot to get Sugar from there but i couldn’t get it till now,” said a resident while talking to KNS. 
The residents appealed to the CAPD minister to intervene into the matter. (KNS)
