Srinagar, Mar 22: Shahnawaz Ahmed Bhat, a Veterinary graduate from SKUAST, has qualified Indian Forest Service (IFS) exam 2016, ranking at 24.
The IFS were declared by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared Indian Forest Service (IFS) exam held in 2016 results yesterday.
This year 110 candidates have been declared successful by UPSC notification issued on 21-03-2017 for IFS with top position notched by Ms. Vidushi a woman candidate from Madya Pradesh.
Indian Forest Service (IFS) is one of the top All India Services besides Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
Candidates are selected after putting them through rigorous screening process involving three tier system-preliminary, mains and personality test.
Earlier, Bilal Mohideen Bhat from Handwara qualified IFS exam in 2012 and therefore after the gap of 5 years, a candidate from Kashmir has cracked this exam. Previously Irfan Rasool Wani, Tawheed Ahmad Deva and Irfan Ali Shah have also qualified this exam in 2006, 2009 and 2010, respectively. (KNS)
