Pattan, March 13: Locals from Baliharan Pattan area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district Monday blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road against the water scarcity in the area.

Hundreds of protesters hit to road and blocked the vehicular movement on the road. They raised slogans against PHE department and alleged that from the Department didn’t bother to ease the sufferings of the people. They said that due to acute water shortage, people have been suffering while the women folk of the area have to cross several kilometers to fetch the drinking water from other areas.

Tehsildar Pattan Syed Faheem along with a police party led by DO Mirgund Adil Ashraf rushed to spot to pacify the protesters. They assured the protesters that they will take up the matter with the PHE authorities. (CNS)
