‘For Kashmiris, everyday is a Pakistan Day’
Srinagar, Mar 21: Felicitating the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the eve of its national day, the incarcerated Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmed Shah, on Monday said the Pakistan Resolution, passed on this day in 1940 in Lahore, was a source of inspiration and guideline for the oppressed people of Kashmir.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah while felicitating the government of Pakistan, its people, civil society, political, social, religious and military leadership expressed hope that the country will move forward keeping in view its responsibility of “uniting the Muslim Ummah”.
He said for Kashmiris, everyday is a “Pakistan Day” as “our hearts beat for Pakistan and we always pray for peace, progress, and stability of this nation”.
Shah said since Pakistan emerged as a nuclear power, the country became the main target of the enemies. “The country, prior to becoming a nuclear nation, fell victim to many internal and external conspiracies of which the ‘Fall of Dhaka’ was an open example. It’s imperative upon Muslim nations to, instead of getting divided and disintegrated; unite under the banner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
Terming Pakistan as a hope for the Muslim world, Shah said, “We believe a strong Pakistan can play a crucial role in bringing peace in South Asia. Millions of people have sacrificed their lives for achieving this nation. Now, the country has to rise to overcome its enemies.”
Commenting over the changing global political scenario, Shah said Muslim countries of the world are “duty-bound” to secure the interests of Pakistan and must “rise to protect and secure this country keeping in view its centrality among the Muslim nations”.
Terming Pakistan as “vision of Allama Iqbal (RA)” and “dream of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (RA)”, Shah said the country always raised voice in favour of oppressed and subjugated Muslims across the world and “the undeterred role it played with regard to Kashmiris’ fight for self-determination is hidden from none”.
“Pakistan’s unflinching support to Kashmiris on political, moral and diplomatic fronts is laudable and we hope the Islamic Republic will continue its support with same spirit and steadfastness. We’re proud of having a nation like Pakistan as our well-wisher,” Shah said. (KNS)
