Srinagar, April 20: On the directions of APHC Chairman and head of Awami Action Committee (AAC) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house arrest from past one month, a high level delegation of AAC led by its general secretary GN Zaki visited the house of martyr Muzaffar Ahmad Mir at Zangal pora Kulgam. Mir sustained grievous injuries after forces fired upon civilians at Barsoo, Ganderbal on April 09 during the sham elections.
Zaki who was accompanied by AAC district president Kulgam, Abdul Salaam Khanday and other delegates expressed their sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family.
Paying rich tributes to Mir, the delegates said the Indian forces were vested with black powers which authorize them to kill anybody on mere suspicion. The leaders further said that coercion and military might cannot repress the voices of freedom, neither it can forces people to retreat from their demand of right to self determination. They stated that the struggle, for which martyrs laid their lives, would be taken forward till it reaches its logical conclusion.
On the occasion Mirwaiz spoke to the bereaved family members on telephone. Expressing grief over the brutal killing of Muzaffar, Mirwaiz encouraged the family members and asked them to be patient in these testing times. Offering special blessing for the deceased, Mirwaiz pledged that the mission for which the martyrs have sacrificed their lives will not be allowed to go waste at any cost.
Meanwhile AAC has strongly condemned the use of force by the government forces on students in Central and north Kashmir describing it as the worst form of state oppression.
