Udhampur, April 19: A delegation from Sultanate of Oman visited Northern Command on Wednesday.
In a statement to CNS, Udhampur based Defense spokesperson, Colonel NN Joshi said that the delegation was led by His Excellency Muhammad Bin Nasser AI Rasby, Secretary General of Defence and comprised of eight other senior officials from the Royal Oman Defence Forces.
The delegation visited Kashmir Valley and interacted with Army officials at Srinagar and were later briefed by Army officials at Headquarters Northern Command, Udhampur. Matters of mutual interest, including externally sponsored terrorism in J&K and efforts to defeat this proxy war were discussed.
The delegation expressed desire to further enhance defence cooperation between both countries especially after the recently conducted joint training exercise ‘Ex AL NAGAH’. This important event was conducted at Bakloh (HP) from 06 to 19 March 2017 to share expertise, evolve jointness and interoperability in counter terrorism operations. (CNS)
