Says Supreme Court has no domain to poke its nose in to
internationally recognised dispute

Langate 29 April: AIP Supremo and MLA Langate, Er. Rasheed has said
that response to talks to resolve Kashmir issue given by the central
Govt. in Supreme Court has yet again exposed New Delhi’s casual
attitude and insincerity in resolving Kashmir issue. While addressing
various public meetings in Langate today, Er. Rasheed said that
although Supreme Court has no right and domain to force Kashmiris its
view on an internationally recognized political issue, but whatsoever
attorney general has said in Supreme Court is nothing but distortion
and denial of facts. Er. Rasheed said “Even if centres revelation to
talk to elected representatives is analysed on merits, there is every
reason to conclude that New Delhi is short of ideas and wants just to
consume time. If New Delhi really cares about electric representatives
may attorney general answer why is Er. Rasheed being labelled as
Pakistani agent for talking about Kashmir dispute time and again at
the floor of the house. If New Delhi cares so much about elected
representatives, why was Afzal Guru’s resolution seeking clemency
sabotaged, what happened to the autonomy resolution passed with two
third majority in the assembly? What happened to return of power
projects and revocation of AFSPA which has been the long pending
demand of MLA’s cutting across party lines”? Er. Rasheed asked New
Delhi not to bring more shame to its reputation by playing card of
elected representatives. He reminded New Delhi about the fact that he
being an elected public representative is not being allowed to visit
Jammu region even to attend social functions. He added, “Does new
Delhi not know what treatment the state police, army and other
security agencies have been giving to elected representatives from
time to time. Attorney General should have told Supreme court how
despite four high court orders state police is not allowing me to have
a free, peaceful, political activity in Jammu Province and few parts
of Kashmir Valley. What happened to the unanimous demand of assembly
seeking rehabilitation of released militants”. Er. Rasheed accused New
Delhi of just misleading the facts and creating confusions and added
that Supreme Court has nothing to do with political resolution of
Kashmir dispute and asking Kashmiris not to seek right to self
determination is the violation of United Nation Charter.
