Jammu, Apr 07: The Secretary to Government, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj J&K, Kiffayat Hussain Rizvi (IAS) today on 06.04.2017 chaired a review meeting of the Jammu Division and reviewed the progress of schemes/programmes being implemented by the department.
The meeting was attended by the Director Rural Development, Jammu, Director, Rural Sanitation, CEO Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP), Member Secretary MGNREGA, Superintending Engineer REW, Assistant Commissioners Development (ACDs), District Panchayat Officers(DPOs), Project Officers DRDA/IWMP and Executive Engineers REW of Jammu Division.
During the meeting, Director, Rural Development, Jammu, presented the brief of the progress made by the Jammu division in the implementation of various socio-economic schemes like MGNREGA, Swach Bharat Mission (SBM), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY) and 13th Finance Commission. Mr Kiffayat Hussain Rizvi enjoined upon the officers to ensure that all the development schemes are executed efficiently so that the benefits reach the common masses.
For maintaining transparency and providing information to the people, the Secretary emphasized that Monitoring Information System (MIS) should be regularly updated. Besides, the progress of various MGNREGA-related indicators— Aadhaar seeding, geo-tagging, job card verification, work implementation were discussed at length. Timelines were issued for time-bound completion of these indicators. Also, the officers were directed to ensure immediate issuance of Job card to the left-over families. In the meeting, it was also stressed that all the District Officers of RDD i.e ACD/DPO will conduct joint review meetings every fortnight so that there is proper coordination and synchronization of work at the implementation level.
CEO IWMP and Director, Rural Sanitation also presented a brief of the schemes— IWMP & SWB respectively highlighting the various projects that have been taken up as per the guidelines in the Jammu division and are expected to be completed soon.
It was impressed upon all the officers to gear up their field functionaries and complete all the targets for the Financial Year 2017-18 under MGNREGA, IAY, IWMP and SBM programmes within the stipulated time-frame. (KNS)
