April 17: 1. Indian Army Conducted a lecture on personal hygiene and sanitation by lady Medical Officer for Girl students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya (JNV) at Arnora on 17 Apr 17.
2. JNV Arnora is a co-educational residential school run by ministry of HRD. The female faculty members are limited. Thus a need was felt by school administration for a lady medical officer to provide the medical counseling on health and hygiene for teenage girls. Accordingly, RR Bn Doda employed lady RMO to conduct a lecture for girl students of JNV (Arnora).
3. On 17 Apr 17, 154 girls and two lady teachers of JNV Arnora attended lecture cum counseling conducted by a Lady Medical Officer. Students were briefed about personal hygiene and recurring health issues prevalent in teenaged girls. 15 girl students were given treatment & medical care. They were also counseled on various psychological issue faced by them.
4. Event not only addressed psychological and health related needs of girl students but also motivated them to Join Indian Army as Officer. Information on career options for females in Indian Army were also explained. The principal, JNV Arnora and staff thanked Indian Army for its initiative and requested for more such lectures and counseling sessions. He added that the visit of Lady Medical Officer has greatly motivated the girl student to excel in life by Joining Indian Army as officer in medical and non combatant branch.
