Bandipora April 08 :The residents of Village Watapora area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district are up in arms against district adminstration for failing to respond their problems properly after heavy rainfall hit the crops in the area.
People have alleged that during the flood like situation in our village, we have apprised administration several times for the redressal of problems but they have turned blind eye towards the matter , left residents dismayed.
People blamed that “Due to the lack of response from admininstration, our crops worth lacs got damaged besides whole village is submerged in water”.
Locals added that that whole Bandipora administration is missing from the ground.
They said that whole area has been flooded with water while none from the administration had visited to the area.
“A local here can’t move out of his house as the whole area is waterlogged said Javid Ahmad resident of the same village, he said I have shifted my family towards another village.
“The district administration is still nowhere to be seen. We tried to contact even Tehsildar Bandipora but he didn’t bothered to pick up our call, locals while talking with this correspondent.
The residents are now demanding compensation from the government for the loss of their crops due to heavy rains in the area.
