Chadoora, April 14: At least three youth have been arrested during a night raid from Gopalpora Chadoora area for their alleged involvement in ‘humiliating’ some men from Para-military Central Reserve Police Force on polling day (April 9) in Kralpora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Though CRPF 144 Battalion had filed a complaint at Police Station Shaheedganj, asking police to register an FIR and identification of ‘miscreants’ who heckled some of the CRPF men on polling day. However, according to law, such a kind of FIR is called zero FIR and it is the prerogative of the police to file an FIR in any police station.
CRPF filed complaint after the surfacing of the video that shows some youth targeting few CRPF men. The video however also showed some youth trying to save CRPF men and also urging upon others not to target them.
Acting upon the complaint, police according to sources raided a brick kiln in Gopalpora area and arrested three youth on Thursday night. Sources told news agency CNS that a formal case against the youth have been registered.
Though an official confirmed the arrest of the youth, the police station Chadoora refused to comment on the issue. (CNS)
