135734 Children in the age group of 0-5 years to be covered under IPPI Phase-II.
Anantnag, April 02: Under intensive Pluse Polio Immunization Programme Phase-II at Anantnag, the Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah Kick started the immunization programme by administering Pluse Polio drops to new born infants at Maternity and Child Care Hospital, Anantnag.
The CMO, Anantnag, Deputy CMO and Deputy Medical Superintendent M&CCH, Health officers and other concerned were present on the occasion.
The Deputy CMO informed on the occasion that adequate arrangements have already been put in place for successful implementation of the programme. He also said that 634 Pluse Polio booths have been setup in Anantnag district including 324 booths in Anganwardi centers, 222 booths in Health institutions, 58 booths in educational institutions, 10 transit booths, 9 HRA booths besides, 8 Mobile booths.
135734 children in the age group of 0 – 5 years of the district will be covered under the programme for which 2663 workers including 997 health workers, 771 ASHA workers, 463 Anganwardi workers, 12 education department workers, 127 Supervisors besides, 293 NGO/Volunteer workers have been deployed on duty.
The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion stressed for cent percent coverage of the programme so that no child is left without administering Polio drops.(DIO)
