Heavy rain triggers landslides in Tral

Tral, April. 06: Following heavy rains , landslides triggered at Panner Jagir , Village of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district , during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. As per the reports, the road link that connects the “Alamkhan” Colony of Panner Jagir Village with other parts of the town, was closed due to landslides in the area while as residential house of Ab Aziz Khan can collapse anytime due to it, if authorities will not reach there immediately. “PMGSY has started the work on this link road sometime back, but they didn’t made walls on roadsides, which leads to landslides due to incessant rains in the area”, a woman told this reporter. The people have expressed resentment against the PMGSY authorities and also said that despite landslides in the area , none of official from Tehsil headquarter reached there so far. While talking to this reporter, they have requested the higher authorities to personally look into the matter.
