Srinagar. April. 03 Elections under Indian constitution are detrimental to the cause and interests of Kashmiris and boycotting these farce elections is obligatory on all of us. Intimidating students and forcing them to take part on upcoming elections is once again proving the fact that these elections are nothing but a police and army operation. This was stated by the Leaders and activists of JKLF while talking to people at various places in south and central Kashmir. JKLF leaders and activists visited various places including Hokhliter, Arizaal, Xarmujroo, Lasi Pora, Barus, Dhaans,Gund, Xhail and Bras in Budgam district, Tulmullah, Sehpora, Chendena in Ganderbal district, Dooru, Ahra Bal, Khuru Hamam and Bazaar Doddru in Islamabad district and Mehjoor Nagar, Padshahi Bagh,Gundabal, and Lasjan and its surrounding areas in Srinagar .Leaders went door to door and asked people to stay away from upcoming election drama as it was damaging to the interests of Kashmir and Kashmiris. Written appeal of united resistance leadership was also distributed in these areas. In Mahjoor Nagar the campaign was led by Tehsil president Meraj ud din Paray. Police last night raided the residence of JKLF district president Budgam Gulzar Ahmad Pahalwan and intimidated his family. Police also arrested a youth Gulzar Ahmad from Arihal Pulwama some days ago and tortured him in police station. When his condition worsened police threw him on road outside the police station wherefrom his family took and shifted him to SMHS hospital. The victim has now been shifted to SKIMS Srinagar. A delegation of common people met with JKLF leaders and apprised them about the oppression unleashed in Pulwama by police. Delegation told JKLF leaders that girl and boy students of girls higher secondary Pulwama, boys school Pulwama, high school Naierah and many other schools were deceived by teachers and staff members in the name of ‘Beti Bechaw Beti Padhaw’ and taken to DC office Pulwama where police and other occupational authorities addressed them and asked them to cast their votes and ensure votes of their parents in the upcoming elections. Delegation also told JKLF leaders that it is a common practice of police and other authorities to call young boys to the police stations and threaten them of dire consequences if they don’t vote. Delegation said that all this was done at the behest of PDP leader Wahid Para. Similarly police has unleashed a reign of terror in Kulgam and Yaripora areas and a youth Khalid Hussain Malik of Kanjimullah was arrested by police in august 2016 and is still in captivity of police. Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) strongly condemns this police oppression that is being done in the name of so-called democracy and elections.
