Srinagar, April 4: Police claimed to have seized live ammunition from possession of a pilgrim who was en route to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district on Monday.
A live cartridge of an AK-47 rifle was seized from a pilgrim who was en route the Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district here, police said.
The live cartridge was seized person identified as Sukh Sagar, from Chattisgarh during checking on a route leading to the cave shrine, reports said.
The person has been detained and a case has been registered in this regard.
Meanwhile, reports said that an live round of INSAS rifle was recovered by security team from an Army man at Srinagar Airport. The man was about to board an Indigo flight when a live round was found in his bag. “The Army man has been detained for questioning,” said an official. (CNS)
