NPP Supremo expresses solidarity with Kashmir students, advises to keep away from violence

Jammu April 22 :   Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party who has a history to lead students’ movement for nearly 30 years against the brutalities and acts of oppression and suppression against the students and the youth in the State of J&K has appealed to the students brethren in Kashmir Valley to continue their non-violent struggle with clear agenda to oppose, expose and finally depose the corrupt, outdated, unwanted and undesirable PDP-BJP government in the State of J&K which has let loose a reign of terror and oppression for the past several months in the Kashmir Valley.

Prof.Bhim Singh who represented the party in the Legislative Assembly and the Council for more than 15 years facing police oppression, jails, farce trials inside and outside the different jails of J&K expressed solidarity with the students and the teachers of J&K seeking justice, equity and a governance with the rule of law. The rule of law has been divorced from the canons of the State government for the past six months and the death and destruction is the rule of law alone in the state. He assured the students, youth and the teachers or all its support from the Lal Chowk to the Red Fort and the corridors of the Supreme Court that he shall fight for justice, equity and for basic fundamental rights which are not available in the State of J&K. He said it is a tragedy that the fundamental rights provided to every citizen of India in Chapter-III of the Constitution of India have not been guaranteed to the citizens of India residing in J&K ever since Constitution of India was promulgated on 26th January, 1950. He accused that Parliament of India has not cared to extend the Chapter on Fundamental Rights to the people of J&K in 70 years and the people of J&K are governed by authoritarian rulers. Presently this is the chance of RSS dominated government in J&K. No rule of law, no fundamental rights and no principles of natural justice are available to the residents of J&K. Prof.Bhim Singh reminded the students of Kashmir that he (Bhim Singh) himself had to suffer in several prisons of J&K for nearly 81/2 years under the draconian Detention Laws as a student and even as an MLA. It was only Supreme Court which has been gracious enough to grant some relief to the suffering students and youth of J&K. He (Bhim Singh) himself was awarded of compensation of Rs.50,000/- in 1984 for his illegal detention by the Govt. of J&K when he was a sitting Panthers Party MLA.

Prof.Bhim Singh hold the Congress, the National Conference and presently BJP and PDP all guilty of suppressing the democratic voices of people of J&K under lame accuses and fraudulent charges just to suppress the democratic voices of the people of J&K. J&K includes Ladakh as well, stated Bhim Singh.

Prof.Bhim Singh urged President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee to invoke Article 370, though temporary, yet in operation by advising the Governor of J&K to impose Governor Rule in the State of J&K under Section 92 of the Constitution of J&K.  He hoped that President of India shall not fail in his duty. Prof.Bhim Singh also advised lady Chief Minister of J&K to be bold enough to withdraw herself and her party from the Govt. of J&K in the interest of the State of J&K and the suffering masses of the State. He hoped that Mrs. Mehbooba Mufti shall read the writings on the walls and resign her Chief Ministership in her own interest.
