Pulwama, April 8: Scores of polling agents of People Democratic Party (PDP) held a meeting in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district that was presided by senior party leader and incumbent Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu.
Drabu is camping in Pulwama from past two weeks to ensure the victory of PDP candidate for South Kashmir and the brother of Chief Minister Tasaduq Mufti. “We are confident of our victory. People will vote in large numbers for PDP,” Drabu told CNS. He said that PDP has been a movement with an explicit ideology and the party will tirelessly work to have that those ideas implemented which have been set by the visionary leadership of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and which alone can sustain the reputation of PDP as a viable and effective political platform in J&K state.
“PDP has established clear political priorities and we would continue our struggle to seek resolution of the multiple problems faced by Jammu and Kashmir on political, economic, developmental, administrative and financial fronts, he said.
Dr Haseeb Drabu said the driving force for PDP’s emergence as a robust regional force is the public support it has got for its pro-people policies, “without which the party could have not achieved much.” “We compliment the PDP cadres for effectively carrying the party’s pro-people agenda to the grassroots and working tirelessly for the benefit of the people,” he said and added that PDP will always emerge victorious in Jammu and Kashmir.
