KULGAM, APRIL 07: Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today visited Vaishov Nallah catchment area to review the restoration work being carried out on bridges, culverts, approach roads and diversions which were washed away by incessant rains in the district. He also took stock of losses in Horticulture and Agriculture sectors due to heavy downpour.
During his visit, the DC directed the concerned to redouble their efforts to ensure restoration of road connectivity in the district at the earliest. He also directed the officer of Agriculture and Horticulture Departments to undertake survey of all affected areas in the district to assess the damage done due to hailstorm, snow and heavy rainfall.
He also directed the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department officers to visit the upper reaches of the district to aware locals there about preventive measures to be taken in case of calamities.
Xens of R&B and I&FC, Officers of Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Horticulture and Agriculture Departments accompanied the DC during the visit.
