Lambasting on tough attitude adopted by Indian state to address the core issue of Kashmir, Dr Veeri said, this attitude is leading whole South Asia towards nuclear disaster and all the countries in the regions will face its devastating consequences. He said time has come for saner elements to unite and bring all the stakeholders of Jammu and Kashmir on one platform for final amicable settlement of Kashmir issue so that South Asia becomes most peaceful and prosperous region in the world.
Dr Veeri strongly condemned the provocative statements emanating from responsible ministers of coalition government and asked CM to sack such bigots from state cabinet. He also cautioned Indian army not to fall prey to communal political executive who are using army to realize set communal agendas by displaying drama of surgical strike and orchestrating genocide like situation in Kashmir to achieve set political goals.
He reminded Indian Army of their highest professional standards, secular conduct and moral ethics which they maintained as an institution of the country since its inception but unfortunately since last one year it appears this institution is also being used as a tool to achieve communal agenda.
Statements of its chief Rawat and subsequent conduct of subordinates working in Kashmir by way of using humans as shield against stone pelting, forcibly under intimidation forcing youth to chant particular slogans and torturing boys in the camps and later releasing these video has dented the image of armed forces for coming times. He strongly asked army to desist from such practices in the larger interest of peace. (KNS)
