JAMMU MAY 06: Coming down heavily on the state as well as central government for ignoring people living close to Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch and IB in other areas, Youth National Conference today said that delay in release of compensation and construction of bunkers, as claimed by government, is condemnable.
While addressing public meetings held in border villages of Poonch Mandi, Ajaz Jan, Provincial President of Youth NC, said that border population is living a tough life under the shadow of guns which can roar at any minute.
” In the mortar shelling from Pakistani side in past two to three years, a major loss of property took place in many areas of Rajouri and Poonch, especially in Saujiyan, Gulpur, Mankote, Mendhar, Balakote and Kalsian Nowshera and many families lost their homes but government is yet to provide needed aid to these families ” he said.
“Compensation to victims is to be given from government exchequer than why government is delaying it ” he questioned and further opined that even the high profile compensation policy framed by central government seem falling flat.
While questioning a mega project of BJP led central government for construction of bunkers along border in shelling hit area, Jan said there seem no major development in the said project and it’s yet to take off properly in any sector of Rajouri and Poonch.
Earlier, people of the area also raised several burning issues before Jan while included water related problem, power crisis and improper supply of ration on government stores.
