Srinagar, May 12: Paying rich tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq and martyrs of Hawals on the occasion of their upcoming 27th martyrdom anniversary, and Shaheed Hurrriyat Khwaja Abdul Ghani Lone, the APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said it is incumbent upon us to show complete commitment and resolve towards the mission of the martyrs who laid down their precious lives peacefully fighting for the political rights and aspirations of the people of Kashmir living a life of uncertainty and subjugation for decades .
Mirwaiz said that the objective of observing Hafta Shahadat was to revisit and renew our pledge and redouble our effort to take our freedom movement forward for which the martyrs sacrificed their lives. Laying out the timeline of the Hafta Shahadat, APHC Chairman said the programs will commence from May 16 with will be marked by the recitation of Quran at the at the Awami Action Committee (AAC) headquarters, and at district headqaurters at 10 am. On the same day, there will be a Husne-Qirat competition, which has been organised by the Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid Srinagar and will be held at Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar.Mirwaiz said on May 17, (Wednesday), APHC will organise a day-long seminar at his headquarters under title “Tanaza-e-Kashmir Ka Hal, Aman Ka Naqeeb, Istehkham Ka Zamin.”Mirwaiz said on May 18 (Thursday), Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam will organise an educational seminar at 10:30 am at Islamia Higher Secondary School Rajouri Kadal under title: (Aik Saliah Samaj ki Tameer aur Talaba ka Kirdar( A constructive society and role of students).”On May 19 (Friday), the Mirwaiz said that AAC will organise a blood donation and free medical camp in the premises of historic Jamia Masjid from 9:30 am, in which prominent doctors of Kashmir valley will treat patients free of cost and distribute free medicines among them.on 20th may (Saturday) AAC will hold a workers rally at the party headquarters,Rajouri Kadal, Srinagar after Zuhr(afternoon prayers),later a prayer meeting will be held at shaheedi chowk hawal
Mirwaiz said that on May 21, general strike will be observed in entire Kashmir to commemorate the martyrdom anniversaries of Sheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Abdul Gani lone, hawal martyrs and all the martyrs of Kashmir. Mirwaiz said following the noon prayers, collective fath-e-Khwani for the martyrs will be held at the martyrs graveyard Iddgah after which a public rally will held at the same venue as per the the programme given with the joint resistance. He said the day will be also observed as Youm-e-Tajdeed ahad as already announced by the resistance leadership, wherein people and leadership will renew their pledge towards the freedom struggle.
Appealing people to participate in the Haft-e-Shohda programmes with full vigor, Mirwaiz said it will be the week for people to show their complete resolve and commitment with the freedom.
APHC Chairman has strongly denounced the continuation of the policy of state sponsored terrorism.
Meanwhile Hurriyat spokesman has strongly condemned the arrest of senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza at Pahalgam.
