Army organize debate competition in Ganderbal school

Ganderbal, May 27: Army camp, Chak-i-Dara of Military Garrison, Ganderbal organised a debate competition at Scholars school, Dardkhor. The boarding school located at the foothills of the Mahadeo ridge boasts of a strength of 250 students hailing from all over Jammu and Kashmir. 12 bright sparks from classes 8th, 9th and 10th presented their views on the topic ‘Women Empowerment’ within the stipulated time limit of thought, confidence and eloquent oratory skills, on the subject. The competition was so close that the judges had to work really hard to choose the winners. Eventually, top three speakers were awarded which motivated other students for participation in such events. Army also took the opportunity to interact with the students and teachers and lauded their zeal, thereby establishing a good rapport. Such positive engagements with young, impressionable minds are bound to play a pivotal role in nurturing their boisterous energy constructively in the days to come. (CNS)
