Budgam residents accuse Army of vandalism

Budgam, May 09 : Budgam locals in Central Kashmir Tuesday staged a massive protest against Army for allegedly resorting to vandalism on Monday night.

The locals from Daharmuna village according to reports blocked the road and raised slogans against army.

The protesters alleged that army men smashed the windowpanes of residential houses and cars in Paul Mohalla area on Monday night.

“The army men targeted every parked vehicle. They smashed windowpanes and thrashed people irrespective of their age,” said a local to CNS adding that Army men instead of curbing the stone-pelters target innocent civilians sitting at home,” they said.

Srinagar based Defence spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia while refuting the allegations said that Army didn’t target anyone. (CNS)
