Burglars looted gold and cash from Tral and Sumbal

Srinagar, May 25: In broad day light, burglars looted gold, cash and electronic appliances from a residential house in Doonigund village of Tral town in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

      The victim house owner Abdul Aziz Rather told CNS that two days after the incident, villagers caught two thieves and handed them over to police.

     The burglars decamped with gold worth Rs 4.50 lakh, Television set, lap tops and computer. They also looted Rs 85,000. “We appeal to police to expedite the investigation. The looted gold belonged to my daughter who is going to marry next month,” he said.

     When contacted a police official from Awantipora police station said that an FIR vide number 50/2017 has already been registered and efforts are on to nab the burglars.

       Meanwhile, burglars also looted gold worth Rs 3 lakh from the house of Shabir Ahmed Dar in Nesbal Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. A police official said that burglars looted the trunk carrying gold from the house. “We found the empty trunk on Srinagar-Bandipora road. A case has been registered and investigation set into motion,” he said. (CNS)
