CS reviews developmental scenario at Baramulla
Directs concerned to ramp up the pace of developmental work

Baramulla, May 03: In order to take a review of progress and implementation of various ongoing developmental projects and schemes, and to monitor the law and order situation in Baramulla district, Chief Secretary of J&K state B.B. Vyas today chaired a high level meeting of district and sectoral officers at Dak Bunglow Baramulla.
The meeting was attended by Director General of Police Dr. S P Vaid, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, IGP Kashmir S.M. Geelani, District Development Commissioner Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash, SSP, ADC, Engineers from PHE, PDD, R&B, I&FC and officers from various departments.
The DDC informed the Chief Secretary about the ongoing works and flag-ship programmes taken up by various executing agencies in the district through a power point presentation. He also apprised the Chief Secretary about the works being executed by departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Social Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies, PDD, JKPCC, Health etc. under Centrally and State Sponsored Schemes. The meeting held a threadbare discussion on the projects under various centrally sponsored schemes in the district and basic facilities being provided to the people.
Chief Secretary emphasized that owing to its historical importance as a transit route for cross Loc trade, Baramulla should revive with administrative zeal its potential as an important trade centre for overall economic welfare of the people.
He directed the I&FC department that they should take every care to monitor the fluctuating flow of river Jhelum flowing through Baramulla, carry out extensive dredging, restore the river to its original form and coordinate with the Social Forestry department for felling of any trees for the purpose, so that every exigency is managed peacefully without any loss to life and property in future.
Chief Secretary, on this occasion, urged upon the officers to gear up the pace of ongoing works and projects and directed the concerned to personally monitor the progress of ongoing developmental works on regular basis to ensure completion of these projects within the fixed timelines so the people will take benefits from these projects.
The CS impressed upon the officers to put every efforts in place to ensure availability of all the basic facilities for the people of the district. He directed Head of the departments to ensure punctuality, and accountability of the employees in their offices for better public delivery, put in place grievance redressal mechanisms through effective implementation of RTI and PSGA, and be empathetic to the people. He directed the concerned to ensure seeding of AADHAR with bank accounts of beneficiaries and encourage e-governance for delivery of services for welfare governance.
