Srinagar, May 13: The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Saturday expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of the Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson Syeda Aasiya Andrabi and warned authorities of serious repercussions if they play with the health of the incarcerated leader.
In a statement issued to KNS, DFP secretary general Moulana Abdullah Tari while condemning the continuous detention of Syeda Aasiya Andrabi said authorities are resorting to political vengeance against her.
“Mohtarma Aasiya Andrabi is an asthma patient and is suffering from various ailments; if she’s not provided proper medical care in this condition, her health would deteriorate further,” he said and demanded immediate release of Aasiya Andrabi and her personal secretary Sofi Fehmeeda.
Moulana Tari while highlighting the contribution of Syeda Aasiya Andrabi towards the freedom struggle hailed her spirit, resolve, and steadfastness and said playing with her health is intolerable.
He also expressed concern about the deteriorating health of political prisoners in various jails and police stations across the state saying that on one hand these prisoners are put behind bars for years altogether and on other side they are denied medical treatment.
Moulana strongly condemned the PSA on People’s League leader Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori and said that shifting an ailing octogenarian leader to Jammu jail in simmering summer days reveals the frustration of the so-called administration. (KNS)
