Hurriyat express concern over unlawful detention of activists, demands release

 

SRINAGAR  MAY 06: Denouncing continuous detention of political leaders and activists, Hurriyat Conference Saturday expressed deep concern over the unlawful detention of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activist, Gh Mohd Lone (Ashitengu).

 

Demanding immediate release, Hurriyat said that despite knowing about his ailing son, authorities are delaying his release. Hurriyat while lashing out at state administration for their apathetic approach towards detainees said, that Gh Nabi Wani @ Sahil (Chandekot Kreeri) & Bashir Ahmad Wani (Bangdara Kreeri), both are subjected vengeance and their detention is prolonged on one pretext or the other.

 

Spokesman, Ayaz Akbar said that Gh Mohd Wani was arrested during people uprising in 2016 and was lodged in Kotbhalwal. In a detailed statement about Bashir Ahmad Lone, spokesman said that state judiciary quashed his case and bailed out from all cases, however instead of honoring the court orders, police till now is keeping him under illegal custody.

Spokesman said his family members approached police and apprised the worsening condition of his ailing son, however police without assigning any proper reason, are continuously denying his release.

 

Ayaz Akbar said that police should consider the human aspect of the case as well, as his son is bedridden and release him forthwith. Spokesman said that its two activists Gh Nabi Wani @ Sahil & Bashir Ahmad Wani, since last ten months are lodged in Kotbhalwal and both activists are suffering from serious ailments. No medical treatment is being provided them, said Ayaz Akbar.

Hurriyat urged International Red Cross and Amnesty international to take note of pathetic condition of political detainees and impress upon India to shun its callous attitude and their use influence for immediate release of all detainees. (PTK)
