Srinagar, May 9: Inspector General of Police J&K Rajesh Kumar today visited Railway Police Lines Kashmir at Nowgam and held a Darbar of Jawans and officers. He gave a patient hearing to the participants and assured prompt action on their representations regarding equipment, accommodation and GP Fund.
Addressing the Darbar, IGP impressed upon the jawans and officers the importance of trains as a mode of transport for common people and role of Railway Police in ensuring safety and security of people. He said that Railways Police is performing a great service in ensuring smooth movement of trains for the people.
IGP asked to exercise utmost watchfulness, while ensuring the safety and security of railway assets. Supervisory officers were advised to check the deployment at various points in their respective areas of responsibility and ensure that the SOP is being followed in letter and spirit. During his visit, IGP inspected various stores of the Lines and issued directions for speedy distribution of store items and gadgets, recently allotted to GRP Police stations/PPs.
IGP latter visited Budgam Railway station and interacted with Railway Police Force and Railway officials. After assessing the security arrangements Shri Rajesh Kumar issued instructions for taking measures for further security at the station. (CNS)
