Jan calls for clearing liabilities under MGNREGA
Says schemes should be aimed for public, not political workers

Poonch, May 07: Calling for a need to clear the liabilities created under centrally sponsored MGNREGA, Youth National Conference today said that concerned minister should wake up to the swelling liabilities of MGNREGA.
Youth National Conference Provincial President Ajaz Jan was today on a tour to Loran belt of Poonch where a number of deputations from different villages called him and raised several issues of public concern.
The issue and demand raised by people which dominated the meet with Ajaz Jan was pending liabilities of MGNREGA.
People informed Jan that the payment of MGNREGA works executed by them are pending for couple of years now.
“Department is unmoved to the swelling liabilities and we people are almost feeling a burden for which no one is bothering” local people said.
Locals also raised serious concern on the delay in distribution of concrete tiles in panchayats.
In his address before the locals who met him in the form of deputations, Jan has asked state government to clear pending liabilities at the earliest and to give a healing touch to people whose payments are pending.
“MGNREGA is aimed to provide employment to people but by creating liabilities, Government is putting extra burden on them” Jan said asking concerned minister to prevent the same.
“Concerned minster should wake up over this and should ensure that only works approved in plan are executed so that localities are prevented” Jan said.
He also asked to ensure supply of concrete tiles in panchayats for construction of pacca tile path.
