Investigation team formulated to find out the facts: DC Kulgam

Kulgam, May 15: The residents of Avil Gujar Basti Khuri Batapora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday staged a protest against the Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CA&PD) for ‘failing to provide additional rice to them under Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) scheme’.
According to KNS correspondent Zahoor Indrabi, the residents assembled outside the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office here and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’.
The residents said that the CA&PD officials deputed in their ration depot are not providing them additional ration as announced by the government under Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) scheme.
“The ration being provided by the department is insufficient. We are being forced to bring rice from the market,” they said, appealing the authorities to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at earliest.
Meanwhile, DC Kulgam Showkat Aijaz told KNS that they have formulated an investigation team to find out the facts. “Anybody found guilty will be dealt with strictly,” Aijaz said. (KNS)
