Says functioning of theatre will resume today
Srinagar, May 13: A day after fire engulfed Operation Theatre at Lala Ded (LD) hospital, the authorities on Saturday said that no major damage occurred due to the blaze.
Medical Superintendent of LD, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather told KNS that no major damage occurred due to the blaze that broke out in one of the seven operation theatres of the hospital. “The equipment and the machines in the theatre got wet due to fire tenders.
Dr Mushtaq said that the fire tenders doused the fire immediately and saved it from spreading. “The higher authorities including the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) visited the hospital assess the situation,” he said. He said that the functioning of the theatre will resume today.
Pertinently, devastating fire engulfed Operation theatre at LD hospital in the late evening hours on Friday, which created chaos among the patients and the attendants.
The patients admitted in the hospital were immediately evacuated.
The fire was reportedly caused by the short circuit while no casualty was reported in the incident. (KNS)
