Poonch faces unprecedented power crisis: Jan
Seeks clearance of clearance of MGNREGA liabilities

Poonch, May 23: A citizens meeting of Poonch town was today held by National Conference in which people drawn from all walks of life participated.
Youth National Conference Provincial President Ajaz Jan chaired this meeting.
Citizens and NC workers while addressing on this occasion, raised issues of public concern and leveled serious concern on some issues which are putting common masses into trouble.
Poor supply of Kerosene Oil on oil depots, prevailing power crisis, shortage of ration on government stores and many other issues dominated the concerns raised from the participants side.
Addressing the meeting, Provincial President of Youth NC, Ajaz Jan said that state government is proving a failure on all major fronts in Poonch area and common masses are left in severe problems.
He called upon Minister for FCS&CA, to show some concern towards prevailing shortage of Kerosene Oil on depots reminding the concerned minister that in rural pockets, Kerosene Oil is still one of the widely used fuels. He also emphasized on ensuring adequate ration supply.
Jan also termed prevailing power crisis in Poonch as a major cause of headache for public and said that power crisis is even taking toll on studies of students as examinations days of several classes are on.
Taking a dig at government, Jan said that strike of multipurpose health workers is going on since days and government is yet to establish even a contact with them.
He especially focused on immediate need of clearing all the pending liabilities under MGNREGA which has swelled to over sixty crore in last two years and said that due to severe delay in disbursement of payment under MGNREGA, people are losing faith on this centrally sponsored scheme. (KNS)
