‘It would help Govt to eliminate bogus beneficiaries’
Srinagar, May 25: Mission Director ICPS and ICDS, Talat Parvez on Thursday said that the social welfare schemes implemented by the government for the widows, maternity beneficiaries, poor students and others will run on ground in collaboration with the people.
Talking to KNS on the sidelines of the function here, Parvez said, “The village or ward level committees were formulated and the committees were given responsibility to find out the eligible beneficiaries. The people in their respective areas will find out who is eligible for the schemes including maternity for woman, pension for widows and scholarship for poor students implemented by the government,” Talat said.
He said that in the function the people were guided about the schemes.
“The village or ward level committees would act as Executive committee. The process has just begun. It would help the government to provide benefits to the genuine beneficiaries and the bogus beneficiaries will be eliminated. We would hopefully see changes on the ground after two months and the decision would be further amended shortly,” he said.
He said that the department is implementing 40 to 42 schemes for the people and the committee at ward or village level would help the government to provide benefits to the genuine cases. (KNS)
