SRINAGAR 5 June: Awami Itihad Party Youth Leader and Social Activist Syed Aijaz Kashani lashed out at the Jammu and Kashmir government for ‘tormenting Kashmiris during the Holy Month of Ramadan by failing to deliver basic facilities such as clean drinking water and electricity’. Stating that both the Power Development Department (PDD) and the Water Works Department were “acting in an arrogant, unaccountable manner”, Syed Aijaz kashani lamented the fact that the administration had chosen to not assess its preparedness for the holy month in time. Alleging that numerous areas in Srinagar were completely bereft of water Syed Aijaz Kashani said “in some areas people did not have enough water to prepare food afterIftaar for the last couple of days.” “A government that starves its people of water at one pretext or the other in a water-rich state like ours has to be a sadist, corrupt and evil, that derives sadistic pleasure from torturing people and seeing them struggle and face hardships,” he said. Asking the government to come clean on its policy of governing the state, Syed Aijaz kashani said the present coalition setup led government’s style of functioning and the unprecedented reign of malfeasance and mis-governance is destroying the economy of the state. “Either the government or the Chief Minister should understand the sanctity of serving fasting people during Ramadan and provide them with basic amenities or publicly absolve themselves from this historically important administrative responsibility,” he said the PDP BJP Led Government befooling people and are clearly failed to fullfil the basic needs of people of valley in the Holy month of Ramadan.
